A new bathing pier and sauna reframe the edge between land and Øresund as a place for year-round ritual, recovery, and community. Extending from the shore as a simple timber structure, the project combines a linear pier, a generous bathing platform, and a compact sauna with open views to the horizon.

The architecture is deliberately restrained: robust, coastal, and rooted in the character of Søvang’s existing waterfront. Built in timber and conceived as a lightweight intervention, the project balances permanence with exposure, creating a calm and durable setting for swimming, bathing, and gathering in every season.

More than a utility, the pier becomes a civic threshold — a shared structure that strengthens daily life at the water’s edge and gives Søvang a clear new identity on the coast.
