Inhabitable islands a vision for off grid floating airbnb accommodation

The plant covered cabin will float free from land offering airbnb guests the unique opportunity to have an island to themselves.

The prismatic, weathered timber exterior folds up on itself to form a roof garden of coastal heather and wild grasses. This is contrasted with a small, (very hygge) yolk-like interior lined with sustainable danish softwood.

The floating cabin will offer a truly unique experience. A short boat journey from the shore will land guests on the small terrace, leading into a small protected boot room and a cosy cabin with a panoramic triple glazed wall of glass opening onto the water, a fireplace and built in douglas fir furniture. The floating cabin also contains a tiny sleeping room and a light filled bathroom, both with absurdly good views over the water.

The cabin has been designed to be entirely off grid and extremely sustainable, with removable tanks for water and waste, a 2KW solar array, a battery pack and low energy fittings throughout.
